Non-Sewing Positions
(Please note: These positions are on a volunteer basis; we have no paid staff.)

National Treasurer
(National Board position, 1-year term, Ottawa)

Looking for an opportunity in which your financial experience and skills will allow you to contribute meaningfully to the successful delivery of our mission while enriching your community involvement? As our National Treasurer you will oversee all financial matters for Victoria's Quilts Canada, ensuring they are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with VQC governance and all legal requirements. Sound working knowledge of accounting practices, strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as are good interpersonal skills and experience in accounting software such as Quickbooks Online. This position requires approximately 20 to 25 hours of effort monthly. Duties can be performed from home although there is a requirement to attend monthly Board meetings. Ottawa Branch Treasurer
(Ottawa Board position, 1-year term, Ottawa)

As a member of the Ottawa Board Executive Committee, the Treasurer will oversee all financial matters for Victoria's Quilts Canada's Ottawa Branch, and ensure they are in line with good practice and in accordance with our governing documents and legal requirements. Reports on the Branch's financial health will be submitted monthly to the Ottawa Board at its monthly meetings. Sound working knowledge of accounting practices, strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as are good interpersonal skills and experience in accounting software such as Quickbooks Online. This position requires approximately 5 to 7 hours of effort monthly. Duties can be performed from home although there is a requirement to attend monthly Board meetings. Delivery of quilts in the Ottawa/Gatineau area

As the Ottawa-Gatineau region continues to expand, we are in need of individuals to join our Delivery team. Those wishing to deliver quilts require a car and selected applicants must be able to undergo a police records check.

General Volunteers

Would love to get involved but only have limited time available? VQC has a variety of opportunities throughout the year that can support your schedule. Whether it be making phone calls, selling raffle tickets, or helping out with specific fundraising events, your contribution is guaranteed to be appreciated.


Sewing Positions

So you've made quilts for just about everyone you can think of. Now's the time to start making quilts for those you may never meet but who will truly treasure the end result of your time and efforts.

New to quilting? All you need is the desire to learn, some basic sewing skills and we'll take care of the rest.
